Gold Key:
Our bottle drive for Gold Key is still in full effect, and with nice weather on the horizon, we are hoping for a strong spring and summer. Over the last couple of months, the committee was able to take back bottles and cans worth $123.
Help Gold Key with a new donor program
Summer is over and the golf clubs are put away. But before those clubs were put away, they were put to good use. The great heart of Elkdom was just a drive and a putt away.
This year the Gold Key Golf Outings (one in every district) rose quite a bit of money to help special needs students to have an opportunity to further their education. It is because of you, the members, that this is possible.
At the Fall Convention, during the member’s luncheon, the Gold Key Commissioners will be talking more about how you, the membership, can help the Gold Key with our new Donor Program and other new ideas.
After our presentation we will have flash drives available for every lodge in the state with all the Charitable Grant Fund forms and information on it.
Please check our website www.mielksgoldkey.org for this year’s scholarship applications. Students will have to fill these forms out completely online.
Applications will not be accepted online unless they are completely filled out. Deadline for the applications to be filled out and filed online is December 1st.
They will then be reviewed and judging will take place in February. Winners will be contacted by March 1st. Your District Gold Key Commissioners should be contacting your lodges monthly to check with your Lodge Chairman and see if there is anything they can do to help your lodge and let you know what is going on at the other lodges.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact you’re lodge chairman or district commissioner.
